Its Thursday morning. I'm in my apartment right now. The sky outside seems.....gray from here, but i'm sure it will clear up by the afternoon. Brendan Kelly is sleeping on the couch. Jaws is by himself in his fish tank eating algae off the gravel. Matt Schulte is in his room asleep. Mike Lowther is in his room asleep. I'm typing on my keys lightly because i don't want to wake Brendan up. Day 66 of 90 and i'm no better off than i was at day 1 it seems. Maybe i should change it to how Desmon DIDNT book a job in 90 days. lol! Well, i guess we'll see what happens.

So Bettina told me to put an audition on tape for the indie flick that this friend of hers is shooting in San Francisco. We were emailing back and forth and talking a bunch. Then i put the audition on tape and sent it to her. She emailed me back and said she would forward it to the director. Then she emailed me some joke too. I never received any email or response or ANYTHING afterwards. So i'm guessing i didnt get the part. I'm going to my sitcom cold reading class today and then i have a casting director workshop with Todd Sherry afterwards. Thats about all thats going on right now.

I did three casting director workshops on Saturday. Christine Szarus, Scott David, and Craig Campobasso. A lot of people rule against doing them but the last legitimate job i booked was off of a Scott David workshop so i'm sticking with them. What does stink is the prices. 12 workshop tickets were 310 dollars. AHHHHHHH! Good googly moogly! Don't these people realize i'm broke. Well it makes it all worth it when you book a job though. Which i need to do....in less than...hold on my math is awful......90 minus 49 is...carry the one......41 days? Is that right? lol. It is pouring rain outside....well its pouring rain inside as well. My ceiling is leaking. lol. I'm about to go to my acting class. Adios amigos!

Yesterday in my commercial acting class everyone was out in the hallway preparing our sides for the reading we were about to do. There was a new girl there named Jenny that had just arrived in LA. Fresh off the boat. She was very friendly. She walked up to me an introduced herself and we started talking. So i asked her where she was from. She said, "Oh i'm from Seattle. I just got her in LA four days ago." So i said, "Oh WOW! Well welcome to LA." And she said thank you. Then she asked me where i was from. So i said, "I'm from Dallas. But i've been here for a few years." And she got this quickly shocked look on her face and she said, "Oh my god! A few years?! Is it that hard to break into the business?!" I started laughing. If she ONLY knew. hahaha!

Well it's monday. I went to my first actor workshop of the year last Saturday. Chris Gehrt was the casting director there. His office works on the show Sons of Anarchy and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I thought i was going to do an "ok" job since i hadnt been to class in so long because of the break. But i nailed my scene. Everyone was laughing and when my scene partner and i finished we got a loud applause and one guy stood up. It felt REALLY good. I got a call today from a nice lady i met at a previous workshop a few months ago. Her name is Bettina. She said she's working on a project with a friend of hers and she wants me to audition for one of the roles. It shoots in San Francisco. I'm going to read the script today and see what i can do about putting myself on tape.

I submitted myself for 9 jobs today via actorsaccess and LAcasting. There wasn't anything on craigslist. Just a bunch of odd modeling jobs for women and other strange reality projects. My work schedule is off and out of whack for this and the following week which screws up my class schedule. I wasnt able to go yesterday because i had to go to a meeting. I'm usually off on Wednesdays because i have a 5pm class and a workshop after but i have to work at 3pn today so thats out too. As soon as i finish blogging i'm going to grab some old sides and recite them in my bathroom like i was preparing for an audition. At least that's SOMETHING i can do to keep my from getting rusty.

Sunday. Wooh-nelly! Well not much going on today. I went to my congregation meeting to redeem myself for thinking about Paula Abdul and Miss Piggy naked. Now i'm going to wash clothes b4 work. I'm still watching old movies as well. Today i'm watching Gone With the Wind. I thought it was going to be boring as hell but so far its actually really good. 10 academy awards? It can't be but SO bad right? And it was cool to see that the chick playing Scarlett O'Hara was Vivien Leigh. She was in Streetcar Named Desire. One of my favorite movies. But she's all young and hot in Gone With the Wind. Good googly moogly! And Scarlett is such a cock tease. All the guys are all over her like white on rice and she flirts a storm up but doesn't put out for any of them. Lol. Classes start tomorrow. I am so excited. Alright. Later.

Desmon Heck Tries to Book a Job (Day 33 of 90)

So the year 2010 has started. Classes start next week as well as workshops! YAYYYY! Happy days are here again. I felt like i was dying a slow death with nothing going on. So i signed up for casting director workshops for this month. I'm doing one every Wednesday night, and 3 on Saturday in the day before work. I've been going to the gym regularly. I have actually gotten up to 156.6 pounds. Which I've NEVER been at in my entire life. It feels pretty good.
